Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course is a 16 hour of more instructor-led class with field skills session, giving you real-world confidence with classroom instruction and hands-on practice. Designed for guides, hikers, backpackers, hunters, campers, outdoor educators, guides, homeschool families, and outdoor enthusiasts, this course teaches the knowledge and practical skills needed to recognize, assess, and manage medical emergencies in remote environments. During the course, you'll learn to: -Perform wilderness patient assessments. -Manage life-threatening injuries and illnesses. -Treat wounds, burns, fractures, sprains, and environmental emergencies. -Improvise splints and other field-expedient equipment. -Make sound evacuation and patient care decisions. Upon successful completion of the coursework and in-person class/skills day, participants receive a globally recognized Wilderness First Aid certification from the certifying organization listed for that specific course offering. Courses also offer optional CPR/AED certification as an add-on or bundled package.
