Naturalist Solutions / Mountain Trail Monks Adventure Guide & Instructor, Program Support 1099 Contractor Rate Guide (2026) Rate Definitions • Half-Day: 2–4 hours of instruction or guided activity • Full-Day: 6–8 hours of field instruction, guiding, or client service • Overnight: is any day lasting over 10 hours. • Weekly Rate: Based on 4 full program days Rates (Independent Contractor Support Role – 1099-NEC) Instructor / Guide (Day Programs/ Local) $200/ Half-Day $350/Full-Day $1,200/Weekly (4 Full Days) Field Guide / Technical or lead Instructor $250/ Half-Day $450/Full-Day $1,600/Weekly (4 Full Days) Overnight Adventures (+10h) $600/ Full-Day (+10h) $2000/ Weekly (4 Full +10h Days) Notes: - Leads hiking, outdoor education, and client programs. - Guides multi-day expeditions, teaches advanced or technical outdoor skills. Additional / Miscellaneous Compensation Travel / Transit Days $150/day Paid when travel required without instruction Overnight Differential +$100/night For camping, field lodging, or extended backcountry stays out of Yavapai County, AZ. Miscellaneous/ On demand Hourly Rate $80/hr (Static) $140/hr (Dynamic) Static = admin/planning / classroom; Dynamic = urgent, skill / lab-intensive, field-intensive or on demand requests Contractor Terms The contractor operates under Form 1099-NEC as an independent contractor. The contractor is responsible for personal taxes, insurance, certifications, some specialized training material/ equipment, and personal gear. The organization provides permits, group gear, group transport vehicles, and program materials. The organization will provide a schedule no later than 4 days prior to the event. Events less than 14 days will be charged at the dynamic rate. Either party may terminate/ cancel the request with 4 days written notice. A $100 cancellation fee may be incurred. The contractor will maintain Naturalist Solutions LLC Staff Hiring Guide standards. The organization and contractor will uphold the Naturalist Solutions LLC Policies and Procedures. These rates are negotiable prior to service.
